Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Brandt Jobe notches best Champions showing in over a year

By Gary Baines – 8/26/2020

There’s something about late-August golf in recent years that seems to bring out the best in Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Brandt Jobe.

Last year, the Kent Denver graduate and former longtime resident of Colorado, picked up the second victory of his PGA Tour Champions career on Aug. 25 at the Boeing Classic.

Then on Wednesday — Aug. 26 — Jobe notched his best Champions since then.

At an event where Phil Mickelson cruised to a four-stroke victory in his PGA Tour Champions debut, Jobe tied for seventh at the Charles Schwab Series at Ozark National in Ridgedale, Mo.

It marked just Jobe’s second top-15 finish since his victory last August.

Jobe posted scores of 65-69-66 for a 13-under-par 200 total to end up nine strokes behind Mickelson.

For his five-plus-year Champions career, Jobe has now recorded 27 top-10 finishes, including the two victories.
