NAVIGATING THE COLLEGE GOLF PROCESS

College golf is a great avenue to expand horizons and add an additional dimension to a player’s golf experience. The CGA will assist any player in fulfilling their goals of taking their game to the next level. However, parents and players alike need to be realistic in their goals of playing on the collegiate level. Our job is to advise those eager to take that next competitive step, no matter their gifts on the course.

WHAT CAN THE CGA DO FOR YOU?

The CGA staff has close to 100 years of combined experience in this field! We will help you develop a plan to navigate the college process at no cost. This includes creating a strategy to contact coaches by creating cover letter and emails, resumes and reviewing how to make swing video. The most important part, this is free! We have a large database of examples to review with you and we are happy to meet with you to do it! As a reminder, coaches want to hear from the student-athlete, not recruiters, instructors or parents.

WHAT TOOLS DO I NEED?

The only tool that we recommend you pay for is the American College Golf Guide. This Guide contains vital help for junior golfers who want to continue their golf career at the collegiate level. It includes information on every scholarship and non-scholarship golf program in the U.S. (more than 1,200 colleges and community colleges), and it answers the questions facing college-bound students.

WHAT INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE TO HELP ME UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS?

Our friends at Junior Golf Scoreboard have a talented group of writers who have answer many questions that will surface during the process.
