Dear Molly: I’m terrible! How can I make sure I don’t annoy good players?

Couples in Colorado can play golf together at any public course, but sometimes it’s fun to feel like a team, competing against other teams, and then enjoy a 19th hole with other teams of couples.

Are the greens within a few inches of the hole being damaged by leaving the flagstick in while putting? Are golfers allowed to tamp down the edges of the hole before putting without penalty?

I love everything about belonging to a golf club or league. I belong to three of the CGA’s member clubs and am even thinking about joining a fourth. But I don’t get why I have to pay CGA membership dues at every club.

I like to sip wine when I play golf, but the drink carts almost always carry just beer and liquor. Is it OK for me to bring my own?

Most courses we play have four or five tee boxes. The most forward is considered the women’s tee and the second forward is considered the senior tee for men over some age, usually 60. It doesn’t seem fair…

Sometimes in my club I get paired with a certain member who’s a negative self-talker. None of his shots is good enough…etc. How can I block this out and be positive?

Our kids are more into video games and cell phones than golf. Is there any way we can incorporate technology on the course?
