Floridian Blake Dyer shoots 59 at University of Denver Golf Club to gain medalist honors in first Inspirato Colorado Open qualifier; Coloradans Reese Knox and Will Chadwick among 9 qualifiers

By Gary Baines – 6/30/2025

The first of five qualifying tournaments for the 2025 Inspirato Colorado Open yielded a rare 59 by Blake Dyer of St. Petersburg, Fla. — a former University of Florida golfer — at University of Denver Golf Club in Highlands Ranch on Monday.

The 28-year-old Dyer set the course record with his 12-under-par effort, carding two eagles and eight birdies on a bogey-free day to claim medalist honors by four strokes out of a qualifying field of 65. He bettered  his career-best round by two strokes. Dyer competed on the Korn Ferry Tour semi-regularly in 2022.

In all, nine players punched their tickets to the $200,000 Colorado Open, which will take place July 24-27 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in northeast Denver. Two Coloradans were among those who advanced — Reese Knox of Peyton (67), the only amateur to make the grade on Monday, and Will Chadwick of Boulder (68)

This year’s Colorado Open will feature a $50,000 first prize, down from $100,000 in recent years.
