Day two of the CGA Amateur Championship concluded in a three-way tie, with Walker Franklin of Ranch Country Club, Gage Messingham of The Club at Rolling Hills and Patrick Grady of Ranch Country Club all atop the leaderboard with a two-day total of 141.
Franklin and Messingham concluded the day shooting 3-under-par 69. After leading through round one, Grady maintained consistency, leading to an even par performance for the second round.
After the Friday finish, the field was then cut to 40 players and ties. All players at a plus 11 or better will advance to play the weekend rounds.
Throughout the day, players faced inclement weather conditions on top of an already demanding golf course. There were plenty of challenges, including strong wind and two weather delays.
Play continues Saturday with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
