Coloradan Dillon Stewart earns another regional title, winning Laramie Open

By Gary Baines – 7/3/2025

For the second time in about 10 months, Coloradan Dillon Stewart is the proud owner of a regional golf title.

The 2023 CGA Amateur champion won the Sinclair Rocky Mountain Open in Grand Junction in late August of last year. And on Sunday, he claimed the top spot in the Laramie (Wyo.) Open, which earned him $12,000.

Stewart, a graduate of Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins and of Oklahoma State, posted rounds of 65-65-67 for a 16-under-par total at Jacoby Golf Course, which gave him a three-stroke victory over Connor Jones of Westminster.

Over three rounds, Stewart finished with an eagle on a par-4, 16 birdies and two bogeys.

Coloradans claimed three of the top four spots with Jones (-13, good for $7,000) placing second and AJ Ott of Fort Collins (-12, $4,375) sharing third with Californian Josh Anderson.

Stewart is a former Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado boys player of the year who won the 2018 individual title in the Junior America’s Cup, which features some of the top junior golfers from the western U.S., Canada and Mexico. He also led Colorado to its first team title ever in the boys JAC. Also that year, he became the first Colorado boy to win the AJGA Hale Irwin Colorado Junior, and also earned a second AJGA title. In addition, Stewart captured the 5A state high school individual championship and led Fossil Ridge to its first team title in boys golf.
