Victories and other highlights of the fall college season for Colorado-based teams and Coloradans at out-of-state schools

By Gary Baines – 11/26/2025

College golf is in the midst of its offseason — or at least one of them — after wrapping up the fall schedule earlier this month. But before we move into the holiday season, it’s worth highlighting some of the top Colorado-related accomplishments of the fall.

The fall season ran from early September to early November, with much variation program to program. After the break, the spring schedule starts in late January and wraps up in early June — again varying considerably team to team.

At this break, there are three Colorado-based team ranked in the nation’s top 25 by Scoreboard Powered by clippd. The CSU Pueblo men are 13th in NCAA Division II, while Colorado Mesa is 16th. On the women’s side, CSU Pueblo is 21st in DII.

In Division I, leading the way among the Colorado schools are the University of Colorado women (43rd) and the CU men (45th).

Golf programs in the Centennial State produced six team tournament victories and six individual wins during the fall schedule. Plus, Coloradan Lily Nelson, from Henderson State in Arkansas, posted a victory.

Here’s the rundown of those wins:

TEAM VICTORIES

CU women (1 in Division I events): Ptarmigan Ram Classic. Note: That marked the CU women’s first team title since 2017.

CSU Pueblo women (3 in Division II — out of four events) — Dennis Rose Invitational, Travis Roy Memorial Invite and Swan Memorial.

Colorado Mesa men (2 in Division II) — San Juan Intercollegiate and Travis Roy Memorial Invite.

Colorado Christian’s Peyton Jones claimed two individual titles during the fall.

INDIVIDUAL VICTORIES

Colorado Christian’s Peyton Jones — who helped CCU win an NCAA Division II national title in 2024 and finish second in 2025 — won twice in DII: Dennis Rose Intercollegiate and Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya.

UNC’s Kaelen Dulany (1 in DI) — Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational.

CSU Pueblo’s Marius Dosiere (1 in DII) — Otter Invitational.

Colorado Mesa’s Dylan Everett (1 in DII) — Travis Roy Memorial Invite.

CSU Pueblo’s Thale Victoria Estensen (1 in DII) — Travis Roy Memorial Invite.

Lily Nelson of New Castle and Henderson State (Ark.) (1 in DII) – Central Region Fall Preview.

Former CU golfer Sydney Givens (now with Georgia) (1 in DI) — Schooner Fall Classic.

Some other notable items from the fall for Colorado-based college teams:

— Continuing a similar trend from last season, the CU men recorded four top-3 finishes and nothing worse than fifth in the fall. Similarly, CSU Pueblo notched three top-3 showings but no team victories.

— For the first time since 2013 — not in including 2020 when there was no fall season due to Covid concerns — the CSU men didn’t post any team victories during the fall schedule.

— Thayer Plewe of Cortez, now a freshman for New Mexico, went 3-0 individually in the NB3 Match Play and is ranked No. 126 individually among men in NCAA Division I.

— Timbre Shehee of Mead and UNC notched four top-7 finishes individually in five fall tournaments.

— CU sophomore Parker Paxton, from Wyoming, managed three top-5 individual showings in the fall.
