Coloradan Timbre Shehee of UNC keeps streak of top-10 finishes intact with another runner-up showing; first official college golf rankings of season released, with several Colorado-based teams in national top 50

Excuse the pun, but things really seem to be fall-ing into place for Timbre Shehee of Mead during her final season of college golf.
So far in her senior season at the University of Northern Colorado, Shehee has yet to finish outside the top 10 individually at any college tournament. That’s saying something since many college events feature fields between 70 and 110 players.
Though Shehee has yet to claim an individual title as a college player, on Wednesday she recorded her second runner-up finish of the season, this time at the Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, N.M.
Shehee, the daughter of two PGA golf professionals (Tray and Terra Shehee), posted rounds of 69-67-72 for an 8-under-par total, which left her a stroke behind champion Leia Chung of Boise State, who birdied her final hole on Wednesday.
For the tournament, Shehee carded 12 birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey.
Shehee, who finished third this past summer at the CGA Women’s Stroke Play, has now gone second, sixth, seventh and second in her four starts during the fall season. UNC’s lone remaining tournament of the fall is the Powercat Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Manhattan, Kan.
As a team on Wednesday, UNC tied for fifth out of 19 schools. Joining Shehee in the top 10 individually for the Bears was sophomore Samantha Colombine, who placed eighth (71-64-78).
