U.S. WOMEN’S AMATEUR QUALIFIER

Charlotte Hillary of Englewood fired a 4-under-par 68 to take medalist honors and the first qualifying spot for the 2022 US Women’s Amateur at Chambers Bay Golf Course, University Place, Washington. Hillary, a former JGAC Player of the Year, carded five birdies during her qualifying round, which took place June 30, 2022, at Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colorado.

Leigha Devine, Claire Wright, and Lauren Lehigh grabbed the remaining qualifying slots with scores of 69, 70, and 70 respectively. Devine is the winner of the CGA’s 2021- and 2022-Women’s Match Play.

Morgan Miller and Malak Bouraeda both scored one-under-par 71’s to lockdown the first and second-alternate positions.

The prestigious event, which takes place August 8-14, 2022, is the USGA’s third oldest championship. The first tournament was held in 1895 and featured a modest field of thirteen women. Originally conducted as stroke-play, the event switched to match-play in 1896.
