David Nelson Holds Early Lead at Super-Senior Amateur Championship
David Nelson of Columbine Country Club, and the 2020 Super Senior Amateur Champion, fired a 2 under par 69 to get himself a two-shot lead heading into
Connor Jones shot the low round of the day, 64, to get himself two shots behind tournament leader and Colorado State teammate, Davis Bryant.
Davis Bryant had large expectations to live up to on the second day of the 86th CGA Amateur Championship after shooting a new course record (60) at River Valley Ranch in Carbondale on Thursday. On Friday, Bryant posted a 2-under-par 70, maintaining his lead over the field by 2 strokes.
Colin Prater of Cherokee Ridge Golf Course, moved six spots up the leaderboard after firing a 6-under-par 66 on Friday. His only score of par or worse was a double bogey on the 4th hole.
After the Friday finish, the field was cut to 40 players. All players sitting at Even or better will play the weekend rounds and try and catch the leaders.
