HIGHLANDS RANCH - The CGA Women's Senior Match Play Championship kicked off on Monday at DU Golf Club in Highlands Ranch. Women from around the state participated in pod play matches over the first three days, which set the stage for the semi-finals on Wednesday afternoon.
Some familiar names duked it out in the blazing Colorado heat. Defending champion Kristine Franklin (Westminster, CO) took on Marilyn Hardy (Magnolia, TX). Last year's senior women's match play runner-up, Leigh Klasse (Cumberland, AZ), battled Robin Krapfl (Peoria, AZ). Could we see a repeat of the 2024 finals?

After a back-and-forth front nine, Franklin kicked it into overdrive going three up on the back nine and finally defeating Hardy 2 & 1.
Leigh Klasse
Robin Krapfl
In the match between Krapfl and Klasse, the front nine was dominated by Krapfl. Klasse came back on holes 10 and 11 to tie the match, Krapfl came back and defeated Klasse 2 & 1.
The stage is now set for the final match between Franklin and Krapfl, scheduled for tomorrow morning.
In the final two net match play brackets, Trish Swanson (Arvada, CO) will take on Cindy Ortega (Denver, CO), while Taylor Bridges (Denver, CO) will face Karen Chase (Littleton, CO).

5/14/2025 The team of Kelly McCormick (Centennial) and Jolene Wong (Highlands Ranch) earned a come-from-behind victory in the final match of the CGA
