With her first major victory in over 7 years, Coloradan Becca Huffer becomes the first 3-time winner of the Colorado Women’s Open
COLORADO SPRINGS - The 22nd CGA Women's Senior Match Play Championship began Monday at Eisenhower Golf Club - Silver Course in Colorado Springs. Players from around the state participated in pod play matches over the first three days of competition. The semifinals began on Wednesday afternoon after pod play concluded.
The semifinal matches had some very notable names. Defending champion and 2025 CGA Senior Women's Player of the Year, Kristine Franklin (Westminster, CO), took on 2026 CGA Women's Mashie Champion, Kelly Green (Denver, CO). Both Franklin and Green competed in the 2025 U.S. Senior Women's Open and are no strangers to top-notch competition.

Franklin dominated the match, going 4up in the first six holes. Green (below) held her own, but Franklin continued her march to the finals by ending the match on hole 14. Franklin won 5&4, propelling herself to the final match, where she will continue defending her title.

In the other semifinal match, Marilyn Hardy (Magnolia, TX) played Jill Schrader (Littleton, CO). Last year, Hardy came up short against Franklin in the semifinal round. However, this year Hardy was determined to reach the final match, where she would have a rematch with Franklin.

Hardy (above) came out of the gate dominant, going 7-up after 9 holes against Schrader. Although Schrader (below) tried to shift the tide, the match ended on hole-12 with Hardy defeating Schrader 7&6.

The final match will take place on Thursday morning against Franklin and Hardy.
