Coloradan Lanting places 35th at national Assistant PGA Professional Championship; Wiebe finishes 41st

Ben Lanting of Littleton finished 35th and former CGA Les Fowler Player of the Year Gunner Wiebe placed 41st on Sunday in the National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Lanting (pictured), winner of the last two Colorado PGA Assistants Championships, closed with a 4-over-par 76, leaving him at 9-over 297 overall, 17 strokes behind champion Alex Beach of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Wiebe, the reigning Southern California Assistant PGA Professional Champion, shot a final-round 77, putting him at 299.
Lanting earned $1,065 and Wiebe $930.
