Pueblo West’s Zaremba notches top-10 finish at national PGA Senior Stroke Play tourney

By Gary Baines - 1/12/2021

Mike Zaremba of Pueblo West, a past winner of the Colorado Open and the Colorado Senior Open, finished strong on Tuesday to tie for eighth place overall out of 122 players at the Senior Stroke Play for competitors 60 and older, part of the PGA of America’s Winter Championships in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Zaremba fired a 4-under-par 67 on Tuesday to check in at 5-under 209 overall (73-69-67), which left him eight strokes behind champion James Mason of Dillard, Ga., a one-time winner on PGA Tour Champions.

Zaremba’s finish came less than a week after he finished 18th in the PGA’s Quarter Century Championship for players over 65, where he shot scores of 74-74 for a 4-over-par total of 148.
