Rachael Watton-Stephanie Holmes team from Wellshire grabs lead in CGA Women’s Brassie

Rachael Watton and Stephanie Holmes of Wellshire Golf Course teamed up to shoot a better-ball score of 1-under-par 71 on Monday and grab the overall low-gross lead in the 71st CGA Women’s Brassie Championship at River Valley Ranch in Carbondale.

Meanwhile, Peggy Sontag of River Valley Ranch and Nancy Peterson of Glenwood Springs Golf Club share the overall low-net lead at 9-under 63 with Cynthia Elsener and Marita Rhea of Omni Interlocken Resort.

Watton and Holmes recorded six better-ball gross birdies on Monday, while making two bogeys and a triple bogey 8 on the 17th hole. They lead the low-gross division by two.

The 36-hole Brassie will conclude on Tuesday.
