Former CU golfer Jeremy Paul wins in a rout at SwingThought tournament

Former University of Colorado golfer Jeremy Paul ran away with a mini-tour title, cruising to a six-stroke victory on Thursday at the SwingThought event in Murrieta, Calif.

Paul, who wrapped up his standout CU career in 2017, went 67-66-67 for a 16-under-par 200 total. Over the three rounds, Paul racked up two eagles, 15 birdies and three bogeys. 

The victory in the 26-man tournament was worth $14,050.

Also posting top-10 finishes at the event were former Colorado State University golfer Blake Cannon (ninth place, 210 total) and Jeremy Paul’s twin brother Yannik, also a former CU golfer (10th place, 212).

Elsewhere on mini tours for players with strong Colorado connections:

Paige Crawford of Colorado Springs tied for 10th place on Thursday at The Cactus Tour’s event in Queen Creek, Ariz. Crawford posted scores of 70-71-71 for a 4-under-par 212 total, which left her 11 strokes behind winner Kendra Dalton. Crawford earned $605.
