Part-time Coloradan Scott Vincent matches his career-best showing on LIV Golf and earns $1 million in the process; Colorado native Jennifer Kupcho posts best LPGA finish of 2026

The longer-term funding for LIV Golf may be far from certain, but for now, the money keeps flowing in a big way for players.

Just ask Scott Vincent, who lives in Colorado part time (along with Florida) and is back competing on LIV in 2026 after being “relegated” due to poor performance on the circuit in 2024.

On Sunday, he finished solo fourth out of a 57-man field in Mexico City. That matches his best showing ever on the LIV circuit as he also placed fourth in 2023 in Singapore and Jeddah.

But what is particularly remarkable is the payday that comes with Vincent’s fourth-place finish in Mexico as he earned a cool $1 million for the week. Not bad for a circuit whose main source of funding may close the spigot after this year.

Vincent, competing in his 39th LIV Golf event since making his debut in 2022, posted rounds of 67-71-65-69 for a 12-under-par total in Mexico City. He ended up nine strokes behind champion Jon Rahm, who earned a tidy $4 million for his second individual LIV victory of 2026.

Vincent regained his spot on LIV Golf by finishing atop the International Series rankings for 2025. He competed in the U.S. Open last year.

— Elsewhere for Locals on Major Tours: Despite struggling with her putting — she needed 132 strokes on the greens for the four rounds — Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Jennifer Kupcho tied for 13th on Sunday at the JM Eagle LA Championship, marking her best official LPGA Tour finish since November. Kupcho went 69-70-68-72 for a 9-under total. SCORES … Another Colorado Golf Hall of Famer, Wyndham Clark, notched his best PGA Tour showing since January by tying for 16th at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island. He posted scores of 68-68-70-69 to check in at 9 under in the Signature Event. SCORES … Former Colorado Christian University golfer Sangha Park tied for 11th place in his PGA Tour Americas debut, at the Brazil Open, the circuit’s first event of 2026. He went 67-67-71-64 to check in at 15 under. Also placing in the top 20 was former CGA Player of the Year Jake Staiano (18th place at 13 under). SCORES … Competing in his fourth PGA Tour Champions major, Matt Schalk of Erie, the PGA general manager at Colorado National Golf Club, missed the cut in the Senior PGA Championship at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. Schalk carded scores of 78-77. The highest-placing finisher with significant Colorado ties was former Aspen resident Justin Leonard (27th place, 3 under par total). SCORES
