Lourdes Swanson of CommonGround Golf Course and Lucille Moreno-Peacock of Overland Park Golf Course teamed up to fire a net 14-under-par 58 on Wednesday and claim overall low-net honors at the 14th annual CGA Women's Niblick Tournament, hosted by the University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch.
Swanson and Moreono-Peacock, competing in the fourth flight, chalked up three net eagles, 10 net birdies, three net pars and two net bogeys. The champions are pictured above, with Moreno-Peacock at left.
The better-ball stroke-play event was limited to golfers with handicaps between 20 and 36. The competition was divided into seven flights, with 60 two-person teams competing on Wednesday. Victoria Ponce of West Woods Golf Club, winners in the third flight at 12-under 60 with Jan Squires, made a gross hole-in-one on the 109-yard 17th hole, giving the team a net 4-under-par score for that hole.
