2-time champ Becca Huffer of Monument returns in hopes of making another run at title in Inspirato Colorado Women’s Open

By Gary Baines

This week, the Inspirato Colorado Women’s Open will be contested for the 32nd time.

Since the event was last held, two of its past champions have won on the LPGA Tour — Colorado native Jennifer Kupcho (the 2020 CWO champ) at the 2025 ShopRite LPGA Classic, and Lauren Coughlin (2016 CWO winner) at the 2026 Aramco Championship in early April.

It marked the fourth LPGA Tour victory for Kupcho and the third for Coughlin.

It’s hard to predict if the winner of the 2026 CWO — set for Wednesday through Friday at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in northeast Denver — might go on to claim at least one title on the LPGA circuit. But there are undoubtedly plenty in the field that hope things play out that way.

The $200,000 purse — with $50,000 going to the winner — makes the Colorado Women’s Open a draw for top competitors, so the possibility is there. The field, as always, features a mixture of up-and-coming professionals, strong junior and college golfers and a variety of others.

Among those scheduled to tee it up this week are two-time CWO champion and former LPGA Tour player Becca Huffer of Monument; Sedalia native Katie Hollern, who posted a top-15 finish on the Epson Tour in March; former LPGA Tour veteran Dottie Ardina; former CWO one-time winners Alyaa Abulghany, Haylee Harford Sanchez, Clariss Guce and Erin Houtsma; Team Colorado junior elite team member Addison Dorsey and fellow recent girls state high school champ Kaylee Meyering; 2025 CGA Women’s Player of the Year Carolyn Fuller; two-time USGA championship quarterfinalist Lauren (Lehigh) Dickey; standout amateurs Ashley Kozlowski, Emma Bryant, Maddy Bante, Logan Hale and Hadley Ashton; Epson Tour veteran Kristin Coleman; and Brooke Seay, who was part of two Stanford teams (2022 and ’24) that won NCAA Division I national titles.

As has long been the case, the CWO will feature a pro-am format throughout the three rounds of championship play.
