Coloradan Lanting makes headway at national Assistant PGA Professional Championship

Ben Lanting of Littleton moved into the top 30 on Saturday with one round remaining in the National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

A 2-over-par 74 in round 3 pushed Lanting into 29th place in the 72-hole event. The winner of the last two Colorado PGA Assistants Championships stands at 5-over-par 221, which puts him 11 strokes behind leader Colin Inglis of Eugene, Ore.

Meanwhile, former CGA Les Fowler Player of the Year Gunner Wiebe is tied for 37th place at 222 following a third-round 75. Wiebe won the Southern California Assistant PGA Professional Championship late in the summer.
