GHIN Challenges
Use your handicap to compete in GHIN Challenges across the state! GHIN Challenges are virtual net competitions where golfers post scores through the GHIN app to compete on a leaderboard. Post 3+ scores at a participating course, and your top 3 scores will be ranked against other participants. Each challenge runs for approximately 6 weeks.
How Does it Work?
Step 1: Post an 18-hole round at the participating course in the GHIN app
Step 2: After posting, you’ll be prompted to join the challenge, tap Join Challenge
Step 3: Post 3+ rounds during the challenge window to see yourself on the leaderboard.
Step 4: See where you stack up- your best 3 net scores determine your final rank!
FAQ's
Is there a cost to participate? – No, GHIN Challenges are a free, value-added benefit for all active CGA members, participants only pay their standard green fees at the host course.
Who is eligible to play? – Any CGA member with an active GHIN Handicap Index
How is my Net Score calculated? – Rankings use Total Net Score (adjusted gross score minus course handicap minus total par), based on a player’s top 3 rounds during the challenge
What is the difference between ‘Ranked’ and ‘Unranked’? – Players can join the challenge with only one score but will be considered unranked. To be ranked in the challenge, players must complete and post the minimum 3 rounds.
What if the Challenge notification doesn’t appear? – Make sure the GHIN App is updated and ‘push notifications’ are enabled. Rounds must be posted as ‘Home’ or ‘Away’, ‘Practice’ or ‘Competition’ rounds may be excluded.
Will scores be subject to review? – Yes, following the conclusion of the challenge, CGA will review score postings for those that placed and won. While GHIN Challenges are meant to be recreational competition, and the integrity of the game remains a consistent priority. Abnormal posting patterns, such as scores posted after the date of play or in a cadence different than previous play, will need to be verified via peer review.
