Colorado golf courses featured prominently in national ‘best of’ lists published in May

By Gary Baines – 5/31/2021

May was certainly a busy month when it comes to golf’s most prominent publications ranking golf courses nationally and internationally — and state-by-state.

It started with the media outlet which began this course-ranking craze — Golf Digest, with its biennial America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, which debuted in 1966. The latest edition was published on May 3.

Then there were the similar lists — and variations thereof — compiled by Golfweek and Golf.com. If you can think of a sub-category of ranking courses, chances are it’s been done.

For our purposes, we’re focused primarily on Colorado courses. So, for those interested, to save the time of searching around we’ve compiled the most prominent “best of” course lists that were published this month — and that include at least one facility based in the Centennial State.
