New Faces for Team Colorado

New Roster for Team Colorado Announced for the 2026 season.

(Nov. 4, 2025) – After the inaugural season, six new faces and ten returning players will comprise the 2026 Team Colorado. As part of the USGA’s U.S. National Development Program, Colorado was selected as one of seven states to launch the State Team Program in 2023. Starting in 2026, thirty states will have State Teams across the nation.

“This first year for Team Colorado has been extraordinary. We are so proud of the inaugural team and the time commitment they made to be on it. We are thrilled for the athletes who have moved on to their next chapter, but we are excited for the incoming players to experience all Team Colorado has to offer,” says Ashley Harrell, CGA Chief Operating Officer.

During the first year, players participated in Vision54 and on-course training, traveled to Arizona to play as a team, and volunteered at events such as CBS Girls in the Game and the Gold Crown Foundation. The hope for the future is to continue to build on the current foundation and compete against other states.

“Being able to proudly display my Team Colorado bag at the U.S. Girls’ Junior in Atlanta this summer was awesome. I was representing the Colorado Golf Association as their State Junior Champion,” said Team Colorado member Ella Scott.

A Team Colorado oversight committee carefully selected athletes based on performance-related factors throughout the 2025 season. To be eligible to compete on a state team in 2026, a player must be a U.S. Citizen and Colorado resident, be 13 years old by Jan. 1, 2026, have not reached their 19th birthday by July 20, 2026, and must not be enrolled in college for the 2025-2026 school year. CGA membership, including a Handicap Index®, is also required.

Established in February of 2023, the USNDP is designed to ensure that American golf is the global leader in the game by focusing on six key pillars: talent identification, access to competition, national teams, athlete resources, player development and relations, and athlete financial support. The state team program will focus on creating a developmentally appropriate, aspirational pathway for athletes within each state to compete at higher levels of the game, including an opportunity to represent the United States as a member of the USNDP’s National Team led by Coach Chris Zambri.
