Former CU golfer Jeremy Paul posts 2nd top-10 of his PGA Tour career, both coming in Caribbean; ex-Air Force golfer Kyle Westmoreland 4th in KFT event in Chile

By Gary Baines – 3/8/2026

Jeremy Paul has proven quite adept at making hay in opposite-field PGA Tour events — especially ones held in the Caribbean.

The former University of Colorado golfer has posted two top-10 finishes in his short PGA Tour career, and both have come at islands in the Caribbean.

Last April, Paul — then a PGA Tour rookie — tied for second at the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic, a shot back of champion Garrick Higgo. That tournament was held the same week as the RBC Heritage.

Then on Sunday, one island to the east, Paul — now relegated to conditional status on the PGA Tour — finished eighth at the Puerto Rico Open, held opposite the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The German native posted rounds of 69-67-70-71 for an 11-under-par total, which left him six back of champion Ricky Castillo. Paul played his final five holes in 2 under par and earned $97,500 for the showing. Paul also had a strong performance in Puerto Rico last year, finishing 16th.

This week marked Paul’s second PGA Tour start of 2026 as he missed the cut in the Farmers Insurance Open. Overall, he’s competed in 28 PGA Tour events to this point. He’s played three times this season on the Korn Ferry Tour — and 91 times for his career. In 2024, Paul won the KFT’s Bahamas Great Exuma Classic; the Bahamas, like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, are in the West Indies.

— Strong Showing for Kyle Westmoreland in Chile: Former Air Force Academy golfer Kyle Westmoreland recorded his best finish on the Korn Ferry Tour since mid-April as he tied for fourth on Sunday in Astara Chile Classic in Santiago.

Westmoreland, winner of the KFT’s Astara Golf Championship in February 2025, carded rounds of 68-69-66-68 and checked in at 13 under par, six behind winner Doc Redman. Westmoreland eagled the 580-yard final hole, while he also made two birdies and a bogey on Sunday.

The performance was worth $37,375 for the former Falcon golfer.

Westmoreland was a regular on the PGA Tour in the 2022-23 season.
