2024 champion David Nelson advances to Super-Senior Match Play semifinals to face Dave Runberg. Rob McLelland will face Scott Sullivan in the other semifinal.
COLORADO SPRINGS – 2024 champion David Nelson (Littleton) will be looking for his second CGA Super-Senior Match Play title in 3 years when he tees it up thursday morning at Eisenhower Golf Club's Silver Course. Nelson, who is aslo a 2-time CGA Super-Senior Amatuer champ, will be facing 2021 runner-up Dave Runberg of Centennial.
Runberg (pictured) earned his spot in the semifinals with a last-minute comeback over defending champion Robert Polk (Parker) in the quarter finals. Polk actually went 1UP in the match when he won the 16th hole, but Runberg was able to win both 17 and 18 to turn the tables and oust the defing champ 1UP. Nelson defeated Mark Donahue of Greenwood Village 3 & 2 in their quarterfinal match to move into the smiefinals.
The winner of Nelson vs. Runberg will face either Rob McLelland of Denver or Scott Sullivan (pictured) of Grand Junction who will battle for a place in the finals in the second semifinal match Thursday morning. Sullivan, who won the 2019 CGA Senior Match Play Championship, earned his in the semis by defeating Robert West of Denver 2 & 1 in the quarterfinals. McLelland had to go extra holes to advance, ousting Castle Rock's Louie Lee in 21 holes.

The semifinal round will be played Thursday morning, and the Final match will be played Thursday afternoon.
