After wrapping up a regular season that began more than 7 months ago, stakes set to go up as local college golf teams gear up for conference and NCAA tourneys

Now it’s time to really get down to business in college golf.
The regular season, which started in September for Colorado-based schools, has wrapped up for local teams, aside from the Air Force Academy men, who will tee it up in the Hawkeye Invitational Monday and Tuesday before moving on to the Mountain West Conference meet.
For every other college golf program based in the Centennial State, up next is the postseason, starting with conference/league tournaments — and possibly continuing with NCAA regionals and the national championships (for those who qualify).
On the line at the conference meets — which start as soon as Sunday in the case of the NCAA Division II men and women at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships — are NCAA regional berths for team champions, along with some bragging rights.
Three Colorado teams will be defending conference/league titles — the University of Denver women (Summit League), the Colorado Christian men (RMAC) and CSU Pueblo women (RMAC). On a bigger level, the CCU men are coming off seasons in which they won the national Division II title (2024) and finished national runner-up (2025).
As for the 2025-26 season, Colorado-based teams claimed 14 team titles in tournaments. That includes five by the CSU Pueblo women, two each by the University of Colorado women and the Colorado Mesa men, and one each by the CU men, the Northern Colorado men, the CCU men, the CSU Pueblo men and the Colorado Mesa women.
The CSU Pueblo women, by the way, will be hosting an NCAA regional tournament at Pueblo Country Club May 4-6.
