Cortez’s Micah Rudosky, a 4-time overall Section champ, becomes latest 2-time winner of Colorado Senior PGA Professional Championship

Micah Rudosky of Cortez has won the Colorado PGA Professional Championship — the Section’s most prestigious open-age tournament — four times.
And now the longtime PGA head professional at Conquistador Golf Course is starting to make headway in the CPGA’s top senior event, the Colorado Senior PGA Professional Championship.
On Tuesday, the 55-year-old captured the senior title for the second time — but first since his “rookie” season of 2021 — as he prevailed by two strokes at Fort Collins Country Club.
Rudosky, who trailed by two entering the final day, backed up a first-round 71 with a 3-under-par 68 on Tuesday to check in at 3 under overall, two better than two-time champion Matt Schalk of Colorado National Golf Club.
After standing 1 over par for the day after seven holes on Tuesday, Rudosky went a bogey-free 4 under the rest of the way to claim the title.
Rudosky becomes the seventh player to win the Colorado Senior PGA Professional Championship at least twice in the 21st century, joining Dave Arbuckle, Doug Rohrbaugh, Mike Northern, Dave Alvarez, Mike Zaremba and Schalk — with Arbuckle the only three-time champ during that period.
Over 36 holes, Rudosky made nine birdies and six bogeys.
Schalk placed solo second after a 72 on Tuesday. Robert Grall, like Schalk from Colorado National, was third at 1 over par, finishing four back of Rudosky.
The top seven eligible finishers qualified for the national Senior PGA Professional Championship, set for Oct. 22-25 in Gold Canyon, Ariz. Schalk, the 2022 national Senior PGA Professional Champion, was already exempt and does not count toward the Section’s seven qualifiers. Joining Schalk at nationals will be Rudosky, Grall, Bill Hancock, Perry Holmes, Grant Jackson, Barry Milstead and Ron Vlosich.
