New Roster for Team Colorado Announced for the 2027 season.
(October 26, 2026) – After two seasons and great success, Team Colorado has made its selections for the 2027 season. The 2027 team will have 11 new faces and 5 returning players. As part of the USGA’s U.S. National Development Program (USNDP), Colorado was selected as one of seven states to launch the State Team Program in 2023. Starting in 2027, all fifty states will have State Teams.
“We are seeing many proof points that being a part of Team Colorado is impactful for our athletes. They are performing at high levels and using the skills and information provided to them by team coaches and support professionals. We are thrilled to welcome this talented 2027 class of athletes to the team and watch them continue to grow in their development as both golfers and people,” says Ashley Harrell, CGA Chief Operating Officer.
During the 2026 season, the team traveled to Arizona for intersquad play and player development, hosted training days, and sent four players to the USNDP-hosted Match, where they competed against Puerto Rico and Mexico in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
An oversight committee leads Team Colorado and works with the USNDP to meet the program's requirements. One of the oversight committee's most important responsibilities is selecting Team Colorado members each year. The committee takes this responsibility seriously and considers many factors when making these selections. Such factors include, but are not limited to, the CGA Junior Points Lists, COPGA Junior Points Lists, junior rankings (Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS), American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), etc.), top finishes at events, strength of field in events played, trending indicators, graduation year, and on-course observations in both tournament play and practice.
Selecting a team for such an elite program is difficult given the number of very talented junior players in Colorado. Both those who are selected and those who are not use this program as motivation to achieve their full potential in the game of golf.

Established in February of 2023, the USNDP is designed to ensure that American golf is the global leader in the game by focusing on six key pillars: talent identification, access to competition, national teams, athlete resources, player development and relations, and athlete financial support. The state team program will focus on creating a developmentally appropriate, aspirational pathway for athletes within each state to compete at higher levels of the game, including an opportunity to represent the United States as a member of the USNDP’s National Team led by Coach Chris Zambri.
